Due to the restrictions put in place by the UK Government Bulgarians and Romanians do not yet have the freedom to take up jobs in the UK like other EU Nationals. If they want to do seasonal work on farms in the UK they must apply in a different way to other European Nationals.
The information in this section ONLY applies to nationals from either Bulgaria or Romania.
The Seasonal Agricultural Workers Scheme (SAWS) allows Bulgarians and Romanians to come to the UK for up to 6 months (as long as there is a break of 3 months between another SAWS placement) to undertake seasonal farm work on a work card scheme (actual length of placement varies depending on the farm and can also be affected by weather conditions). The scheme is run for the UK Home Office by 9 Operators; Fruitful Jobs Ltd is one of these Operators.
Fruitful Jobs Ltd is classed as a Multiple Operator, this means that we recruit for a number of different farms / growers in the UK and place workers on these farms. The worker is employed directly by the farm and NOT Fruitful Jobs Ltd.
SAWS operates all year round and participants may work in certain agricultural occupations as long as the work is seasonal. Apart from earning money there is the opportunity to learn about modern farming, the culture of the UK and take part in leisure activities.
Fruitful only has a limited number of SAWS work cards available each year, this means we often have far more applications than work cards available. We are unable to guarantee that we will be able to issue you a work card for one of our placements.
