This is a 9 month placement for a fruit farm in Scotland, the succesful candidate will be working as a forklift driver both on the farm and in the packhouse, this means loading fruit from the fields into the packhouse as well as loading onto lorries etc. loading and unloading deliveries to the packhouse, moving product around the packhouse. You may also be asked to do other tasks.
You MUST have a valid UK forklift certification and ideally have UK references for forklift work that can be checked.
You MUST also have a VERY GOOD level of spoken English.
Working hours / days during the placement will vary and you will be expected to work on weekends, early morning and evenings during peak times. Approx hours will be 06.00am - 16.00pm, but longer at peak periods.
Paid £5.80 per hr basic and £8.70 per hour overtime (over 39 hrs per week). Wages will be paid weekly (1 week in arrears).
Accommodation is available on the farm this is in self catering mobile homes which are shared with other workers, the rent is £31.57 per week (you will most likely be sharing a room with someone else). Gas bottle costs are spilt between the occupants of the caravans and you buy gas new bottles when you run out.
You need to have a driving license and you need to be 21 or older because of insurance purposes.
You also need to be physically fit as you will be manual handling trays of fruit in the packhouse.
